High-quality silicon bricks are mainly acidic refractories composed of tridymite, square quartz and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases. High-quality silicon bricks have good resistance to acid slag erosion, and the softening temperature under load is as high as 1640-1670 ° C. The volume is relatively stable for long-term use at high temperatures, and it is not easy to deform. Its silica content is more than 94%, and the true density is 2.35g/cm3.
High-quality silica bricks are mainly used for the partition walls of the carbonization chamber and combustion chamber of the coking furnace, the regenerator and slag chamber of the steel-making open-plan furnace, the vault of the homogeneous furnace, the refractory materials of the glass melting furnace, and the firing kiln of ceramics. And other load-bearing parts, also used for high-temperature load-bearing parts of hot blast furnaces and acidic open-plan furnace tops.
The raw material for making high-quality silica bricks is silica. Silica is not a mineral name but an industrial term. In industry, the bulk silica raw material is silica. Its main mineral composition is quartz, and the main chemical composition is SiO2. Generally speaking, the quality of siliceous raw materials should be comprehensively considered from the aspects of microstructure, chemical composition, fire resistance, compactness, strength, appearance and firing transformation. When using siliceous raw materials as refractory materials, we must first pay attention to their chemical composition and fire resistance. Especially when producing high-quality silica bricks, the type, distribution and quantity of SiO2 content and impurities in silica are extremely important.
In the production of general silica bricks, the content of SiO2 in silica should not be less than 96%. Al2O3 < 1.2~ 1.6%, and the total amount of Na2O should not exceed 0.2~ 0.4%. For silica bricks, the content of impurities (Al2O3, TiO2 and alkaline substances) in silica should be as low as possible, and the sum of the three should not exceed 0.5%. For silica bricks, the refractory degree is required to be greater than or equal to 1750 ° C and 1730 ° C, while for general industrial furnaces, it is required to be greater than and equal to 1710 ° C.
In addition, the density of high-quality silica bricks is also extremely important. Generally, silica is required to be dense, because the texture is soft, and the porosity of the product is high. It stops at the microstructure such as the type of silica and the size of the quartz grain, because it has a great influence on the transformation of SiO2 crystal form during the calcination of silica, so enough attention should be paid.
