Introduction of Silica Bricks and Their Features for Main Industrial Kilns

1. Silica brick for coke oven

Silica bricks for coke ovens are used to masonry silicon refractory products of coke ovens with pyroquartz as the main crystal phase. Modern coke ovens are large-scale thermal equipment built with tens of thousands of tons of nearly 1,000 kinds of brick-type refractory materials, of which the amount of silicon bricks accounts for 60% -70%. Coke oven silicon bricks used in masonry coke oven silicon bricks should have the following characteristics:

(1) High softening temperature under load.

Coke oven silica bricks should bear the dynamic load of the coal car on the top of the furnace at high temperature, and require long-term use without deformation, so the load softening temperature of coke oven silica bricks is required to be high.

(2) High thermal conductivity. Coke is made of coking coal in the carbonization chamber by the heat transfer of the kiln wall of the combustion chamber, so the silicon bricks that masonry the combustion wall should have high thermal conductivity.

(3) Good thermal shock resistance. Because the coke oven needs to be charged and coked periodically, the temperature of the silicon bricks on both sides of the combustion chamber wall changes drastically, so the coke oven silicon bricks are required to have good thermal shock resistance.

(4) High temperature volume stability. The grade of silicon brick for coke oven is JG-94, and the product standard is YB/T5013-1997.

2. Silicone bricks for hot blast stoves

With the increase of the air temperature of the hot blast stove, the use conditions of refractory materials for the hot blast stove are becoming more and more harsh. When the air temperature is higher than 1200 ° C, the traditional high-aluminum products can no longer meet the requirements for the use of high-temperature parts. At high temperatures, silica bricks have the advantages of low creep rate, high strength and good thermal shock resistance, so silica bricks are widely used on the roof of large hot blast stoves, partition walls and upper parts of regenerators.

The grade of silicon brick for hot blast stove is RG-95, and the product standard adopted is YB/T133-1998.

3. High-quality silicon bricks for glass kilns

High-quality silica bricks for glass kilns have the characteristics of high silica content and low melting index, and are mainly used in the superstructure of glass kilns such as roof, chest wall, hanging wall, small furnace, and regenerator.

The standard of high-quality silicon brick products for glass kilns is JC/T615-1996, which is divided into 3 grades according to the single weight of the brick: XBG-96, ZBG-96, DBG-96.
